ORTLIEB USA accepts no liability for any claims relating to normal wear and tear, improper product use, failure to follow assembly or mounting instructions, product modifications, or improper storage. The warranty does not cover material abrasion, holes, tears, cuts, or other damages that occur as a result of an external variable or event (i.e. bicycle accident).

ORTLIEB USA does not assume responsibility for the cost of shipping an item to ORTLIEB USA for assessment, repair, or replacement. That cost is the responsibility of the user.

The waterproof ORTLIEB Handlebar-Pack is an indispensable item when you’re on a bikepacking tour in the great outdoors. Depending on the particular model, the Handlebar-Pack offers a payload of either 9 or 15 liters for your sleeping bag and pad. It also helps to secure a balanced distribution of gear and weight across your bike. Thanks to the roll closures at both ends, you can always gain quick access to your gear. Compression belts on the outside enable the stowing and attachment of additional equipment. Moreover, the Handlebar-Pack comes with four hooks to enable the attachment of an ORTLIEB Accessory-Pack for additional stowage space. Consisting of spacers and two strong hook and loop straps, the mounting system ensures secure attachment to any handlebar type, including carbon handlebars. The pack’s stiffened interior and head-tube attachment offer additional stability – in any terrain. The smaller of the two models belongs to the compact class of bikepacker handlebar rolls. With a length of only 40 cm, this waterproof handlebar bag is the right choice for bikepackers with off-road drop bars and both racing and hybrid-style handlebars. The compact Handlebar-Pack is also extremely lightweight. Thanks to its additional drawstrings the 15L version gives you the option taking additional equipment with you on your trip.

Can I attach additional equipment to the outside?

Yes, the Handlebar-Pack offers compression straps and, on the 15-liter version, elastic drawcords on the outside. These let you attach lightweight items such as a jacket or sleeping mat within easy reach. Additionally, the Handlebar-Pack features four integrated hooks where you can securely attach the ORTLIEB Accessory-Pack to further increase your storage volume.

Can I mount the Handlebar-Pack on a carbon handlebar?

Yes, the Handlebar-Pack is suitable for mounting on carbon handlebars. We recommend applying protective film at the contact points to prevent abrasion and damage.

Does the ORTLIEB Handlebar-Pack fit all handlebar shapes?

Yes, the Handlebar-Pack can be mounted on nearly all common handlebar shapes, whether flat bar, drop bar or cross bar. For particularly narrow handlebars, such as on gravel or road bikes, the 9-liter version with a width of just 40 cm is recommended.

What is the difference between the Handlebar-Pack, Handlebar-Pack QR and Handlebar-Pack Flex?

All three models are waterproof and designed for bikepacking but differ in access and mounting system.
The Handlebar-Pack is a classic handlebar roll that attaches to the handlebar with straps, ideal for a sleeping bag or sleeping pad on longer trips.
The Handlebar-Pack Flex adds a fixed adapter plate for handlebar mounts and internal plastic reinforcement. It can be used flexibly with the Mounting-Set QR or traditional handlebar mounts.
The Handlebar-Pack QR also uses the adapter plate but comes with the Mounting-Set QR included. It is not a handlebar roll but a narrower bag with a top roll closure and mesh side pockets.

How securely does the Handlebar-Pack sit on the bike during rides on rough terrain?

The Handlebar-Pack is fixed to the handlebar with two sturdy mounts and one to the head tube, staying securely in place even on rough terrain. Spacers and straps ensure the bag does not slip or rest against the head tube. Even under strong vibrations, it remains stable and contributes to balanced bike handling.
