ORTLIEB offers a 5-year limited non-transferable warranty on all new products purchased through an authorized ORTLIEB retailer against manufacture defect.
ORTLIEB also offers a 1-year limited non-transferable warranty on all repairs performed by ORTLIEB USA.

Bags acquired second-hand, or via unauthorized 3rd Party retailers (such as eBay or Amazon) are not eligible for warranty coverage through ORTLIEB USA.

ORTLIEB USA accepts no liability for any claims relating to normal wear and tear, improper product use, failure to follow assembly or mounting instructions, product modifications, or improper storage. The warranty does not cover material abrasion, holes, tears, cuts, or other damages that occur as a result of an external variable or event (i.e. bicycle accident).

ORTLIEB USA does not assume responsibility for the cost of shipping an item to ORTLIEB USA for assessment, repair, or replacement. That cost is the responsibility of the user.
Please contact our Product Service team to submit a warranty inquiry or request a repair. If your product is replaced pursuant to the terms of the warranty, the date of the original purchase shall still apply as the reference date for the 5-year warranty period.

How robust is the Water-Bag?

How long is my warranty?

The Water-Bag is designed for longevity and often accompanies you for decades. To give you peace of mind regarding durability, we offer a five-year warranty on materials and workmanship. If the Water-Bag does get damaged, almost every component from straps to buckles can be repaired. Even if a model is no longer produced, spare parts remain available for at least ten years.

How ORTLIEB products can be repaired

How do I properly clean and care for the Water-Bag?

After use, the bag should be completely emptied, opened and dried. If necessary, clean it with a soft brush and some neutral soap. Mechanical or chemical cleaning is not required.

Is the material suitable for drinking water?

Yes, the inner coating is specifically designed for contact with drinking water. However, do not fill in boiling water! The maximum temperature is 60 °C.

Can I use the Water-Bag for other liquids?

No, the Water-Bag is intended exclusively for water. Other liquids or chemical additives can damage the material.

What can I use the ORTLIEB Water-Bag for?

The Water-Bag is a lightweight and flexible solution for transporting or storing water on the go. It replaces bulky canisters or bottles and is perfect for camping, trekking, paragliding or expeditions.

How can I transport or hang the Water-Bag?

The 4- and 10-liter versions feature sturdy carrying handles with buckles. This allows you to easily attach the bag to a backpack, a tree or your vehicle. The 2-liter version has a practical carrying handle without a buckle.
